How to apply

Finland’s universities of applied sciences have a joint application system and aspiring students can submit applications in the spring and in the autumn. There are separate application systems for adult education and programmes offered in foreign languages.

Universities of applied sciences are responsible for deciding on the student selection criteria, on the organisation of the entrance examinations and on student selection.

A person who has completed the upper secondary syllabus, taken a matriculation examination or has a vocational upper secondary qualification or who has gained eligibility for higher education studies abroad, can enter a Bachelor’s degree programme.

A person who has an appropriate Bachelor’s degree or another appropriate higher education degree and has worked at least three years in a sector in which such a degree is a requirement can enter a Master’s degree programme.

For more information about the entrance requirements and selection criteria, consult the study guides published by the National Board of Education and the guides published by individual universities of applied sciences.

A student may only accept one study place in a degree programme starting during the term.

You should send your applications to www.amkhaku.fi (Finnish-language training) or www.admissions.fi (English-language training).

Applications for vocational teacher training should be sent to www.opekorkeahaku.fi.
